Minority Women Grants

Government grants for minority women are one of the best endeavors by the federal government, corporate America and religious organizations etc. to foster the economical growth of minority women.Financial assistance to the minority women, is an important element that is shaping the dynamics of economical and financial markets in the United States. Every year billions and billions of dollars are allotted as a free grant money for the various minorities in the United States of America. For example, there are grants for the African-Americans, Hispanics, Jewish Americans, Asian minorities (less prominent), disadvantaged group minority grants and native American minority grants. Apply Grants Today!!

It is sad fact that every year, many free grants schemes go unclaimed and there are hardly any women to apply for them. This owes to the fact that there is a lot of unawareness about the laws and a general misconception that the process of getting the grants is very difficult and time-consuming. However, the process is simple and even the government takes interest in granting monetary help to the privileged and deserving women. The important fact to know, is that unlike loans, grants need not be repaid to the government.

For Single Mothers

It's a startling and to some extent a sad fact, that there are nearly 13 million single parents in the United States and 84% of them are single mothers (according to a survey released in 2007). In order to help and raise the social and economic status of the single mothers, there are many grants for single mothers. There are some single mothers, who became mothers at a very young age and so they were compelled to drop the college education. It may be either due to financial problems or social repercussions.

The government understands the challenges underlying the safe, secure and healthy upbringing of the child, that is raised without a father and so it has made provisions for the allotment of grants for single women. The 'Free Application for Federal Student Aid', commonly known as the FAFSA, is chiefly responsible for grants and aids to the minority women and single mothers. The government offers grants to the women and single mothers who live in unsafe areas, to purchase and own houses in more secure and safe places. The federal and state governments offer grants for this, at subsidized rates. The government also offers money for the moms, who are willing to start their own businesses and become entrepreneurs. It is to be remembered that the government has enough grants in order to support the single mothers and their children, so that they can come out of high risk situations that may affect their life.

For Starting Business

If you are a woman and also a minority, then there are millions of dollars waiting for you, as an aid to start your own business or small enterprises. You can check out in your city and locality, about the number of women that have started their own businesses and achieved success. Once you are aware about the business competition that prevails in your city and area, you can plan out your own plan and approach the authorized government officers for the grant. There are many government grants to start a small business. For applying for small business loans and grants, you must be able to write an effective proposal letter. This can help you to convey your exact business plans and prove that you have a purpose behind it, i.e. to empower yourself and your family.

Grants for women and minorities can be availed by approaching women organizations, non-profit organizations and by searching on the net. By talking to your friends, personal lawyers and women activists in the area, you can get more information about the entire process and help your dreams come true. Grants for minority woman is a step taken by the federal government and other organizations, to realize the true essence of democracy and help to form a society that promotes equal growth opportunities for all, irrespective of the gender.

College Grants-Getting Grants For Women, Minorities and Single Parents
Every year the government gives away billions of dollars to millions of people and organizations. That's cash that you may be able to use to:
Help you get out of debt
Start a home business
Go back to school and obtain a high paying job

Business Grant Money Information

Business Grant Money Information

A successful business often starts with a single idea. Then, with a little help from outside financial resource, this idea is later turned to reality. See the trend here? While we're not saying that money can make the world go round, it can do a lot of unusual feats, like turning your ideas into dollars, for instance. But then, there lies a problem. How many bright ideas do you think have people come up with? A thousand? And out of all that, how many of them had been turned into successful business enterprises? Ten? Twenty? Thats because the person who came up with the idea doesnt have the financial means to make his idea work. Now, what if we told you that there is a way for you to finance your dreams? No, we're not talking about loans. We're talking about business grant money. Unlike a loan, a business grant does not require you to pay back the amount. In fact, thats the reason why many people refer to it as free money because it is, technically, free, though there may be obligations and sanctions imposed. The great thing about business grants is that it is out there.

It exists, though you may have to dig deep to find one that suits you perfectly. And when it comes to federally funded grant money, you may have to dig a bit deeper than usual. You see, while many private institutions and nonprofit groups offer business grants to enterprising individuals, the real money (a hefty chunk of it, in fact) often comes from government. Congress allocates about $67 million in business grant money to be distributed to the 57 federal agencies all over the United States. For a simple street-paving project proposal, you may get awarded something around $1,000 - $25,000 in grants. The only requirement that the federal government imposes is that your business project must be beneficial to the local community or the general public. A search through the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) will lead you to two types of business grants: one for rural businesses and one for minority business enterprises. For a rural business grant, the purpose is to promote sustainable economic development in rural communities with exceptional needs.

Since the program gives a strong emphasis on helping existing businesses grow, eligible applications for the grant money for starting a business are public entities and nonprofit corporations that may in turn award money to the residents they serve. Other eligible applicants for the money for starting a business include Indian tribes on Federal or State reservations or other Federally recognized tribal groups, and cooperatives with members that are primarily rural residents and that conduct activities for the mutual benefit of the members. On the other hand, minority business grants offered at CFDA is aimed at fostering new minority business enterprises and maintaining and strengthening existing firms to increase their opportunities to participate and receive benefits of our economic system.

Swope Health Services grant money

Swope Health Services grant money will support new clinic in Independence

Swope Health Services has received more than $2.5 million in federal grants designed to increase the number of patients the group can serve through its community health centers.

Dave Barber, Swope’s interim president and CEO, said the center plans to use $2 million for a new clinic in Independence, and $500,000 to renovate the radiology and mammography rooms in Swope Health Central and to buy new imaging equipment for mammography and dental care.
A spokesman said Swope still is evaluating whether to build a new standalone clinic or expand the current one at 1638 W. Highway 24.

“These dollars will help us increase capacity and dramatically improve the caliber and cost-effectiveness of our radiologic services,” Barber said in a release. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday announced $728 million in grants provided under the Affordable Care Act, including $10.3 million for Missouri and $21.7 million for Kansas.Swope is the only Kansas City-area center receiving the grants, which are aimed at supporting construction and renovation projects, as well as helping centers buy equipment or fulfill other key facility needs.HHS said in a new report that the health care law already has helped expand or renovate 190 existing health centers nationwide and create 67 new ones, serving almost 3 million additional patients. During the next two years, the department said reform will pay for construction at 485 existing centers, build 245 new ones and provide for 1.3 million new patients.

“For many Americans, community health centers are the major source of care that ranges from prevention to treatment of chronic diseases,” HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a release. “This investment will expand our ability to provide high-quality care to millions of people while supporting good-paying jobs in communities across the country.”

Minority Women Business Grants

Minority Women Business Grants

Nowadays, there are many government and private entities who offer minority women business grants to start their own businesses...If women decide on starting their own businesses, they normally approach their friends or relatives for loans, or try to obtain commercial loans from banks. For women falling in the minority category such as Asian, Spanish-American, or African-American who want to start businesses, there is a special benefit set aside known as minority women business grants.

Applying for Free Grant Money

Basically, a grant is a loan which is given by the granter to the receiver free of the need to repay. This simply means that if you receive any kind of grant, it is not necessary for you to repay it back again to the granter. You can use up all the money for the purpose you had applied the grant for. It is kind of free money or free gift to the needy, that are normally provided by various non-profit institutions and other businesses, with the federal government grants being the major lender. Apart from federal government grants, individual states and regional authorities also have their own set of grants to be offered to women from the minority class.

Difference Between a Loan and a Grant

A loan is where you have to pay back the amount to the lender with due interest. Whereas, a grant is free, and there is no need for repayment. One more point to note is that, you are eligible for business loans only after the lenders are convinced with your credit status. While in the case of grants, your credit history is not checked, since there is no need for repayment. On the downside, the grant obtaining process can be more complicated than of loans. Unlike loans, grants to be offered are limited in numbers, therefore due to a huge number of applicants, there can be only few who can receive this free money.

Obtaining Minority Women Business Grants

As grants are limited, you need to do some preparations for increasing your chances of obtaining the grants. For bettering your chances of receiving minority grants, you most importantly need to devise a business plan according to the business you are thinking of setting up. The chances of you being unsuccessful in obtaining the grants are high if you do not have a proper business plan which will assure the granters that the funds are going to be used for a good purpose. In preparing a good business plan, you can take help from business writing professionals or consultants.

With a sound business plan proposal, there also might be further requirements to be eligible for receiving the grants. Such requirements are usually industry specific. There are some women grant schemes which provide grants to women only from a specified work sector. Coming to how much money can be obtained in these repayment-free minority business loans, grants can include financial aid ranging from $1,000 to $25,000. This money can be used for the purpose of starting a new business altogether, expanding current business, or executing other business growth strategies.

The main key to succeed in getting grants is preparing a proper business plan. You can check the government's website for any information regarding the eligibility criteria of obtaining federal government grants. You can also check with several non-profit business organizations or women welfare societies in your locality if they are offering any grants.

Small Business Startup Grants

Small Business Startup Grants

There are some Government grants that are available for EXPANSION OF businesses (but not to establish a new business). When a government agency makes funds available for a grant, it places an announcement in the Federal Register which is issued every weekday.

For the major part, these grants are very specialized. Moreover, many Government grants are not available through the year. That is, you can't apply for most of them at any time you wish -- in practical, you can apply for them only when they are announced by a Government agency.

GRANT is not exactly a loan, Attempting to get funds through a orthodox financial institution can be very lengthy and requires loads of paperwork, only to find out that you've been refused. These Government Agencies don't have to work under the same abovesaid requirements that banks do. You work on how much funds you require, as long as it's a legible amount and complies with Government Agencies basis, the fund is yours to keep and you don't have to repay it. This money is interest free and non taxable .None of these plans need a collateral ,co-signers , credit check, security deposits , you can apply even if you have a bad credit or bankruptcy , it doesn't matter, you as a U.S. citizen and tax payer are entitled to these funds.
Anyone planning about going into business for himself, or wishing to enlarge an existing business should head for the world's largest "one-stop-money-hub" where FREE MONEY is being held for you to begin or expand a business by the Federal Government.

It is absolutely amazing that people living right in the United States of America wouldn't know that every year the world's biggest source of free business aids in delivering.

While there are still no direct small business grants that can be borrowed from the federal government, many state development agencies offer direct small business grants and other types of financial assistance designed to encourage and help businessmen in starting or expanding a small business
SOME FACTS:

Over $29 trillion dollars in low-interest loans and free grants;
over one-third billion dollars in obtaining of contracts; and
Around $32 billion dollars in research grants FREE consulting.
With a market that remains unpredictable, and a requirement for even greater economic growth on all aspects, the federal government is more interested than it ever has been earlier to give you the money you need to establish your own business and become your own boss!

Majority of people never try for FREE government GRANTS since they feel it is not meant for them, or simply don't know who to contact or feel there's too much red-tapism.
In spite of the perception that people should not trust the government for aid, the great government give-away programmes have remained so amazingly big that if each of the approximately 9 million businesses applied for an equal share, each would receive over $69,000.
The fact is, however, that people from all aspects of life do receive GRANTS MONEY free and other help from the government, and you are entitled to it.

Minority Business Grants

Minority Business Grants for single moms

Funds or capital is what is required on a big scale to set up any business. Lack of funds can be detrimental to small businesses even if the business model or the basic concept of the business is brilliant. We see so many small businessmen and businesswomen close down the shutters of their shops as they find it difficult to buy products which can be sold at good rates due to lack of cash or quick bank cash credit. What these small business owners need is motivation, consistent finance and guidance regarding how to grow their business. Now, there are many private lenders available in the market who take advantage of the cash strapped small businesses and lend at very high rate of interest. It becomes extremely difficult for recently started businesses to make profits after paying so much amount as interest. Considering this need, governments across the world have come up with the unique program known as minority business grants. The grant money can be used by businesses to buy products and fund their expansion plans. So, in the next few sections, let us know in detail about the minority business grants or the small business grants for minority women.

Business Grants for Minorities

Before we know which are the minority business grants for men and women, let us first of all understand the exact difference between grants and loans. Loans are the money lent by banks as well as financial institutions and private lenders and they are to be returned along with the interest charged on them. On the other hand, grants may not be given back to the government. Grants are mostly granted by the government organizations. Grants for women starting a small business will help you know more.

If you are looking for government grants for women, then first of all, you should definitely visit Grants.gov website. From this useful website, you will get all the details regarding which government agency is giving attractive grants for business expansion to the minority women. Though information on minority women grants is available in quite a systematic manner here, you need to keep a tab on it frequently, as the data on minority business grants is kept online during specific time of the year.

The United States of America government has taken special efforts to promote the minority businesses. The Minority Business Development Agency, which has been floated by the U.S. Department of Commerce does the task of catering to the needs of minority businesses. The minority women business grants can also be obtained through the Women Business Centers (WBC) which are present in different part of the country. Apart from finance, these centers will also help you through proper technical and fundamental guidance regarding your business which increases the chances of succeeding in it.

Minority business grants can also be obtained from foundations and institutions set up by wealthy private individuals. The selection, however is done on merit basis instead of the first come, first serve basis. Now, having known which are the minority business grants, let us know how to get the minority business grants in the next section.

Getting the Minority Business Grants

Getting the minority business grants is not that easy. First of all, there will be a lot of competition from all the eligible people. You need to initiate this process by submitting online forms wherever possible or by submitting the form in person to the concerned government office. Many times, you need to give your income details, educational and professional information and submit documents such as age proof, nationality proof, driving licenses etc. The grants will be given only to the permanent residents. It is essential to submit the application form in time along with the documents. You should have a good business plan and be able to explain it to the authorities sanctioning the grant. The grants for women owned businesses have helped many of them to reach the topmost position and rule the business world.

Hopefully, this information on minority business grants will help you to get these grants and take your venture to an all together different level of success and prosperity. So, work hard for a safer and secure future.

Minority Loan and Grant Programs

Minority Loan and Grant Programs

Q: I would very much like to go out on my own, and I've created a business plan for an exciting business. However, because I'm in the "pre-funding" stage, I'm still plugging away at my day job. Are there any minority loans or grants for small businesses that could help me make the transition to entrepreneur?

A: There's a need for minority programs that assist in the maturation of new businesses, and there are several of these programs available. However, any entrepreneur seeking out these sources must also focus on how well her business survives independent of these programs--after all, a successful minority business will have to mature itself out of the program eventually. Make sure you have some sort of maturation plan in place that allows you to succeed without minority set-asides within three to five years, for instance; otherwise, you may find yourself simply building a business to be bought out or putting yourself at too great a risk.

Your first strategy is to look in your own area for local funding, which is available in some communities from redevelopment agencies and other local organizations. An example of a regional organization is FAME Renaissance , which operates several social and business development programs designed to create wealth in impoverished areas within Los Angeles County.

Also in the Southern California area is Operation HOPE , a very worthwhile organization that has dispersed a total of $72 million in minority loans to homeowners and business owners. Even if you don't live in Southern California, I'd recommend paying a visit to the Operation HOPE Web site, which has several inspiring success stories as well as transcripts of speeches from Operation HOPE founder John Bryant, who speaks eloquently about the issues revolving around the "digital divide" and economic empowerment. Some other regional organizations include Brotherhood Business Development & Capital Fund and Pacific Coast Regional.

On a broader scale, Ron Langston, Assistant Secretary of Commerce under the Bush administration, has been very dedicated to the growth of minority businesses and appreciates the special needs that a minority may face in making the transition to entrepreneur. Toward that end, have a look at the upcoming Minority Enterprise Development Conference and the Web site for the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) . Besides information on funding, the MBDA site offers a wealth of good advice for any small business, minority or otherwise.

Besides loans to get started, there are also minority set-asides that an ongoing business can take advantage of. The National Minority Supply and Diversity Council (NMSDC) provides a direct link between corporations and minority businesses. A quick look through its list of member corporations--those companies that want to purchase quality goods and services from minorities on a competitive basis--reveals some of the biggest corporate citizens in the United States. The NMSDC, with regional offices in most states, is a good first step in seeking out your first contracts once you've launched your new business. You can even join its database of certified minority suppliers and get referrals to corporate buyers. In 2000, member corporations made purchases from minority businesses registered with the NMSDC exceeding $54.3 billion.Lastly, as with any type of financing, minority funding also depends on having a sound business plan, quality goods and your personal dedication to success.

Janice Bryant Howroyd is founder, chairman and CEO of Torrance, California-based ACT-1 Group, the largest woman minority-owned employment agency in the United States, with more than 70 offices, 300 full-time employees, 65,000 temporary "stars" and annual revenues exceeding $500 million. Founded in 1978 around Howroyd's personal philosophy of "Keeping the Humanity in Human Resources," ACT-1 is today a multidivision conglomerate serving such clients as Ford Motor Co., Gap Inc. and Sempra Energy and meeting demands for well-educated and well-trained temporary, full-time and contract employees. She has twice been honored by the Star Group as one of 50 Leading Woman Entrepreneurs of the World.

Free Grant Money For Women

Free Grant Money For Women

The government and other private foundations have made over $800 billion in free grant money available just this year, and this isn't too far out of the ordinary. Every year the government provides these cash grants to help people and small businesses meet their financial goals. As a result, Americans over the age of 18 can apply for and receive government money that never has to be paid back.
Who Can Get Free Grant Money?
Government grants are available for one reason mainly. To help stimulate the economy and keep America moving forward as a competitive country. That means these grants are specifically for people and organizations that can take the money and do good things with it. However, the government also has to play a defensive role and provide this money to people who need financial aid or they will make matters worse economically. Take the mortgage crisis as an example. When millions of people defaulted on their mortgage, the economy suffered. The government must prevent that from happening.
Therefore, government grants are mostly available to small business owners (or those with an idea to start a small business), students who want to further their education, those who want to develop their professional skills. Grants are also available to those who need financial aid in order to avert a financial catastrophe, such as people in debt.
There are hundreds of government grant programs that provide billions of dollars that don't ever have to be paid back. When you access the grant database, you'll find many that you may be eligible to receive. There's no limit on the number of cash grants you can apply for and obtain, so don't let that stop you.
Instantly access to the database to get your free grant money . See how much you can qualify to receive and obtain your check in as little as 7 days.

The Negative Impact of Disabilities in the United States

The Negative Impact of Disabilities in the United States

Approximately 56 million (19%-20%) of the United States population have some kind of disability – learning, behavioral, developmental, or physical. This constitutes the largest minority group in the country. Disabilities have no boundaries; they cross the lines of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

A multitude of studies demonstrate that people with disabilities have the highest rates of unemployment and poverty and the lowest level of education of any minority group; are twice as likely as the general population to be the victims of violent sexual assault and other violent crimes; are far more likely than people without disabilities to be excluded from social and professional opportunities; and are teased, bullied, and harassed at work and in school. Moreover, students with disabilities drop out of school at a higher rate than their peers, exhibiting very early the three markers of drop outs (absenteeism, failure in English and math, and serious behavioral issues). And the exclusion of young people with disabilities from social activities can lead to lasting psychological damage.

In all, a disability has a widespread short- and long-term impact on a person’s level of achievement and safety, treatment, acceptance, and economic well-being. It has been demonstrated that these problems can be mitigated by disabilities awareness training that changes attitudes and brings respect, understanding, acceptance, and opportunity to people with all kinds of disabilities. Understand why by reading The Key to Effective Awareness Training is Changing Attitudes. (This link will open a 39kb pdf file to be read in Acrobat Reader.)

Treatment of people with disabilities is a civil rights issue, and awareness is just a start.
